Artist Statement:
emerge
1: to become manifest : become known 2 : to rise from or as if from an enveloping fluid : come out into view 3 : to rise from an obscure or inferior position or condition 4 : to come into being through evolution
artist
1: one skilled or versed in learned arts a: one who professes and practices an imaginative art
Emerging artist - I have often heard those words paired together.
I take them to mean an artist who has reached a certain level of personal and professional development and is beginning to attain some visibility in the art world.
It’s a phrase I have been trying on like a coat.
It seems a good fit.
